Johnston; extensive files relating to agriculture and textiles in South Carolina, including efforts, led by Johnston, Senator Richard Russell, and the Democratic Party, to erect a dam at Trotters Shoals (Abbeville, S.C.). Files also include speech material issued by the Democratic National Committee for use in campaigning; files related to the investigation of communist influence in the United States government and the United Nations.
